Admire the view from the pool – both are stunning. This is a magical place; a soft green lawn edged with Mediterranean shrubs slopes down to the pool, a covered terrace overlooks medieval Volpaia. The house vibrates with bold colour and lively fabric...

Weary of life in the intense financial world of Milan, Guido and Martina packed up and headed for the hills of Chianti and the “good life” that attracts so many there. After a long search they chose the scenic property where La Locanda now stands, primarily for its magnificent position facing out to medieval Volpaia and an endless panorama filled with layers of virgin hills.

What was once a collection of ruined farm buildings high up in the Chianti hills is now a charming country guesthouse, and you would be hard pressed to find a more beautiful setting.
