Welcome

La Locanda stands on a hill 600 metres above sea level in the most beautiful part of Chianti. The view from the pool is stunning! Surrounded by vineyards, woods and olive groves, it overlooks Volpaia, a magnificent medieval village opposite Radda in Chianti. La Locanda is the perfect retreat after visiting Chianti Classico countryside, hamlets and cellars, a walk through the woods or a hard day’s sightseeing in nearby Florence, Siena, Arezzo, Lucca.

San Gimignano, Volterra, Montepulciano, Pienza and Montalcino. In the evening Guido will be waiting for you with his aperitivo on the panoramic terrace or in the living room with its comfortable sofas. In the spacious library with books in all languages, there is an honesty bar; Nespresso coffee, tea bags, mineral water, biscuits and snacks are on the house. Guido, a natural and engaging host, exudes a contagious enthusiasm and helps guests with advice for splendid itineraries and restaurant reservations.

Who we are

La Locanda is a Hotel in the beautiful Chianti area built on a dream: to leave the darkness of the city and the coldness of the financial world and create an oasis surrounded by nature ... The wild beauty of Chianti has enchanted us and - in a moment of lucid madness - our dream came true! Surely you'll fall in love too. A small but essential staff helps the host take care of all his guests.
Bualò, a great Briard pastor, was the mascot of La Locanda, but after thirteen years of "honorable service" he decided to leave ... We miss him!
